Entire Trust in God

In Genesis 2:21 & 22 we learn about our sixth and most important principle of WELLNESS - Entire Trust in God. We read, “And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.”

In the short time that Adam had to interact with God on the 6th day of creation, he came to trust Him enough to perform the first surgery and make for him his life partner. His trust in God led him to take advantage of God’s WELLNESS principles of Water, Exercise, Living Temperately, Lots of Fresh Air, Nutrition, Entire Trust in God, Sunshine, and Sleep and Sabbath Rest. But one time Adam did not trust in God and chose (intemperately) to eat the forbidden fruit, and we all suffer the consequences of that decision.

Stress, depression and anxiety are rampant, and that because we don’t really know the love and power of God. Trust in God is the foundation upon which all other health principles are built and in which they hold together, for it is the foundation of all true change.

Do you feel like a failure? Defeated? Overwhelmed by depression or despair? Anxious about what may come? Come to Jesus and He will deliver you. Psalm 37:40 states, “And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.”

The story is told of a tightrope walker who was walking across a canyon on a tightrope. The crowd below watched as he successfully crossed the canyon. He then got a wheelbarrow and pushed it across. His audience cheered and raised their hands when he asked if they believed he could cross the canyon safely with someone in the wheelbarrow. However, everything went silent, as he asked for a volunteer. No one got into the wheelbarrow.

You see, it is one thing to say you believe. It is quite another to get into the wheelbarrow. The cause of your canyon is sin, but to you it may look like depression, anxiety, or stress. There seems no way across. You cannot get across on your own. Only Jesus can. You need to get into His wheelbarrow. It may seem like you will surely fall, but in His hands you cannot fall. Won’t you get into the wheelbarrow? He will lift you up and carry you close to His heart. He will heal your wounds, and give you the strength to obey. Will you trust Him? It is the only way.

God bless you abundantly as you learn to live God’s WELLNESS way.
